German exhibition stand venues possessing international and national importance posted capabilities totalling 2.7 million sqm in 2006. This included 24 exhibition venues classified by AUMA as national or international.

By the end of 2009 German exhibition centre capacities will grow by 86,000.

Investment in expansion and improvement is estimated to be 1.3 billion Euro or about 325 million Euro per year. Improvements are being concentrated on service, technology and logistics.

Hannover Messe is the largest exhibition centre in the world at 495,265 sqm.
