Around 1990, the eastern European exhibition industry experienced a major exhibition boom.

The new business potential for westerners in the Eastern European countries was marked by customers in great demand. Since EU membership, many of these countries have experienced a change from being government owned and operated to being privatised. This is seen as a good thing as invariably states and governments are seen as bad owners.

Most of the exhibition venues shown are planning to expand their operations.
