This means that, a reception counter for example, would be painted, laminated and have locks and handles fitted, then wrapped in bubble-wrap and carefully loaded onto one of our exhibition contractor vehicles ready to be transported to the exhibition venue. The result of this diligent approach is that the exhibition stand is built quickly and efficiently minimising the need for cutting and painting in the exhibition hall. Most of our exhibition stands are pre-built in Oakmace Exhibitions spacious “set up area” to ensure that all components will fit perfectly. Oakmace Exhibitions have a huge exhibition storage facility at our premises in Essex . This allows us to take care of our clients stock or pre-owned exhibition stand components. Some exhibition stand contractors rent storage space off site, or worse use containers for storage. As part of an ongoing commitment, as a reputable budget conscious exhibition contractor, Oakmace Exhibitions have designed and built a “Double Deck” system for use on our larger exhibition stands. The system consists of standardised UB’s (universal beams) that are connected using corner or “T” sections. The legs, handrails and staircases are pre-finished and bolt into place. This allows Oakmace Exhibitions to be a complete exhibition stand contractor without relying on outside steelwork contractors. The fewer separate exhibition contractors involved in the construction of an exhibition stand the better. At Oakmace Exhibitions we prefer to take total control of the exhibition design and build, this way we can be sure that the exhibition stand is not only finished to the highest standards but is also finished on time and in budget.

Many stand contractors shy away from taking full responsibility for an entire exhibition stand project, especially if the venue for the show is abroad and the exhibition stand to be built is a large “Double Deck” for example. These contracts can lead to a mountain of paperwork, much of which has to be provided in the local language. At Oakmace Exhibitions we can submit all of the necessary paperwork to the exhibition organisers and also place the service orders needed for electricity, water & waste, telephone and internet etc. With our vast experience within the exhibition industry we are also aware of the differing regulations implemented by local authorities around the UK , Europe , and worldwide.

Fire regulations need to be considered when planning an exhibition design. For example many areas in France have restrictions on the materials that can be used in their exhibition venues. Only a defined percentage of the exhibition stand can be covered by a solid ceiling and if a material ceiling is used it has to be of a pre-specified grade. Standard Acrylic is also not permitted in some exhibition halls; instead a fire rated alternative must be used. The Exhibition stand contractor is asked to supply all of the relevant fire safety certificates to the inspectors at the exhibition venue. If the Stand contractor cannot comply, the exhibition stand can be shut down. This highlights the need to use a reputable exhibition stand contractor that has experience in this area.
